Job Description

Title: DG BOSS: Custodian Responsible for cleaning the inside of buildings and other facilities, moving furniture and office equipment; ensures that assigned duties are completed on schedule and are done well within the area assigned; schedules project work and work order requests; responsible for supply needs of the area assigned; performs custodial and related duties when required, during a shortage of manpower. Physical strength and agility are required to operate cleaning, waxing, and other equipment, to safely lift and carry furniture, cleaning equipment, and bags of trash, and to repeatedly bend, stoop and twist. Working conditions include standing and/or walking for long periods and potential exposure to body fluids. Positions may require the ability to work irregular hours or to rotate shifts. + Reports to and receives assignments, interprets instructions, and plans work activities, and direction from the Lead and/or Supervisor. + Responsible for the execution of custodial services as specified in the Performance Work Statement. + Responsible for communicating and upholding company standards, leading by example, working as a team, and providing well-maintained equipment and facilities. + Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment + Provide custodial services to ensure the facilities are clean, sanitary, and sightly and clean. + Provide scheduled custodial services to ensure facilities are clean, sanitary, and sightly. + Empty waste containers and ensure they are clean and sanitary. + Provide low-area and high-area cleaning services to ensure surface areas are clean. + Provide services to exercise areas and gyms to ensure they are stocked with sufficient supplies. + Clean interior and exterior window and window blind surfaces and adjacent areas to ensure that surfaces are clean and sightly. + Clean doors and all associated interior glass of the entrance. + Provide services to drinking fountains to ensure they are clean, sanitary, and sightly. + Sweep or dust mop uncarpeted floors to ensure floors are free of debris and dust. + Vacuum carpets and rugs to ensure they are free of debris and dust. + Clean the walk-off mats and surfaces below the mats. + Spray clean and buff floors to ensure floors are clean and present a sightly appearance. + Strip, coat, and buff floors to ensure that floors are clean, sightly, and have continuous protection. + Deep clean carpets and rugs to ensure that floors are clean, sightly, and available for use in a timely manner. + Service restrooms to ensure they are clean, sanitary, sightly, and stocked with sufficient supplies. + Clean and disinfect restrooms to ensure they are clean, sanitary, and free of offensive odors. + Remove debris from the building perimeter to ensure a sightly appearance. + Empty perimeter waste containers and ensure they are clean. + Provides bus stop services to ensure bus stops are safe and clean. + Responds to and complete requests for minor cleaning tasks between scheduled service intervals ensuring spaces and surfaces are clean including emergency custodial services. + Performs other duties as assigned IAW contractual, functional, and mission requirements. Basic Qualifications + Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through to completion of multiple tasks, under strict deadlines and changing priorities. + Comfort with multi-tasking and handling multiple requests from different individuals and departments. + Must possess administrative, organizational, and computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook). + Must be able to speak, read, and understand the English Language. + Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health. Preferred Qualifications JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING + Any custodian certification/s is highly desired. EDUCATION: + Must be at least a High School, Technical, or Vocational course graduate. EXPERIENCE: + Must have at least a minimum of one (1) year of general cleaning experience in a janitorial, housekeeping, and custodial field.
