Early Years Librarian in Dubai

My client is a leading IB Curriculum school located in Dubai and is looking for an experienced Early Years Librarian.  The Early Years librarian is responsible to set up and oversee the Early Years Library in line with the IB PYP programme and KHDA requirements.

Main Duties

1. Responsible for providing library and research services (i.e. maintenance, budget planning, inventory etc.)
2. Provide effective access to the library collections and resources
3. Train teachers in the uses of new library information technologies and their applications to instructional activities
4. Teach students to use a library with growing independence, helping them learn to locate, select and use resources for informational and recreational needs and providing skills for life-long learning
5. Provide guidance for parents as they share reading, listening and viewing experiences with their children and help them use electronic information sources
6. Promote reading enjoyment and an appreciation of literature

The school has excellent facilities and so you need to be an experienced PYP librarian that knows how to catalogue and prepare the library to be a focal point in the school to aid teaching and learning. You will also be required to work closely with Head of Department and teachers to ensure your library has an engaging learning environment for students.

Requirements to Apply

1. Bachelors Degree in Library Science of related degree
2. Ideally 2+ years experience being a PYP librarian
3. Proficiency in English and excellent communication skills
4. Proficient knowledge of library policies, methods, ethics and professional
5. standards
6. Ability to work in a multi-culture environment and high level competencies
7. in IT and electronic resources and devices
8. Organization and structure of the library systems for cataloguing,
9. acquisitions, and searching online bibliographical utilities
10. Minimum of 2 years of librarian experience
11. Previous international experience highly valued

Qualification:

Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:

A salary from 9000 up to 16000  AED (UAE Dirham)per month based on experience and qualification, TAX FREE

Bereavement Leave:

Bereavement leave given

Gratuity Amount:
