Job Description

The Human Resources Intern will acquire practical experience while working in a high energy, fast paced, customer and employee focused restaurant. You will work directly with the Owner/Operator and key personnel within the Leadership Team, assisting with HR and administrative functions.

The intern will learn all aspects of the HR division of the business including: Compensation and Benefits, Employee and Labor Relations, Employment Law, Organizational Behavior, HR Strategy, Workforce Planning and Staffing, and Performance Management. The ideal candidate has the ability to effectively execute tasks with enthusiasm and attention to detail. They understand the sensitivity of the information they have access to and are committed to upholding compliance standards. The candidate will possess excellent communication, organizational and time-management skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruiting and onboarding of new team members
  • Assist with the coordinating of training schedules and plans
  • Maintain documentation and personnel records
  • Assist with team member engagement initiatives and events
  • Produce professional documents and presentations
  • Work alongside team members to serve guests in the restaurant
  • Treat guests and team members with honor, dignity and respect

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate

Learning Objectives

  • Identify, execute and analyze recruiting plan directives
  • Develop consulting skills to build effective relationships with managers while partnering with them in fulfilling their HR strategy
  • Utilize written and verbal communication skills to articulate HR strategies, initiatives, options and advice
  • Develop and enhance relationships with team members and guests
  • Produce high quality documents utilizing Word, Excel, and/or PowerPoint
  • Produce high quality reports and presentations
  • Demonstrate effective personnel record keeping
  • Exposure to business connections and networking
  • Exposure to and development of executive and leadership skills
  • Improve communication skills with professionals within the business community
  • Acquire experience working on a team and being a team player
  • Exposure to real world experience related to what is learned in class

Education and Experience:

  • High School graduate or equivalency required
  • Pursuing or holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology or related field
  • Bi-lingual highly desired
